My cat has worms. I just found out and I don’t have any medicine for a cat. I do for a dog. My question is will it hurt my cat to take that medicine. I’m for real now I need an honest answer please.

YES! It will kill your cat. Cat’s need less medicine than dogs do pound for pound, and can’t handle the same medicines dogs can. Cats are more sensitive to things than dogs are.
Lots of people kill their cats by giving them medicines made for dogs. It is a bad idea.
Yes – do NOT give dog meds to cats. Take your cat to the vet to be checked and treated for the type of worms. OTC wormers either do not work or you overdose your cat.
I wouldn’t try it.
Anything made for dogs is made to adress the dogs specific needs. Dogs and cats have different needs.
If it was al the same thing then there wouldn’t be a dewormer for dogs, and a dewormer for cats. There would just be a dewormer for both.
Yes and you need to take the cat to the vet. There are different species of worms and you need to know which one it is. I say this because if the cat has tapewarms, medications for round or hook worms won’t work. So go to the vet and get a fecal done. They will give meds based on the worm type. Round and hook worms can be treated with OTC meds, but tape worms need droncit/drontal which a vet needs to give you.
was the cat checked by a vet? and if you are just trying to save some money go to walmart they have cat worm treatment stuff there too do not use stuff on cats that are made for dogs you could seriously harm the cat
One word OVERDOSE, so don’t even think about it, they say dog on the packet for a good reason, it means dogs only!
Cats are very resistant to a lot of things, including rattlesnake bites. Unfortunately, medicine is not one of them. They just don’t tolerate it well. Even giving a cat Tylenol can easily kill it. Unless it is specifically formulated for cats to be able to tolerate it, there is a high chance of it making them very sick or possibly killing them.
Do Not give cats anything intended for dogs. Take the cat to the vet.
