i have two outside dogs. when i got home from work this morning i didn’t see anything on my dogs during my morning petting session. when i came back out an hour later i saw my dog trying to get what looked like strings off her back, so i decided to help her. when i grabbed the "strings" i realized that they were worms with flat heads about 4 to 5 inches long. they were stuck to her fur and leaving what looked like a trail of slime like you would see coming from a slug or something. i looked up hook worms tape worms and round worms and none of them remotely resembled these worms. could she have just laid on them or do you believe they pose a threat to her health?
