puppy parasites?

got a pound puppy about a week ago. poor guy had so many things going on in his system. so far it has been a little expensive, but he is worth it. =) he had a fever, but that is taken care of now. now I am taking care of these parasites he has in his intestines. I got him on flea meds yesterday frontline plus. he got his poop examined and they said he had coccidea and giardia (sp?) he also has tapeworm. he gave me drontal (pills) for tapeworm. when he first took them he had diarea, and now he is pooping his almost regular poops except i see like the whole long tapeworm coming out in his poop (instead of coming out in just little pieces)… so i think it’s working. he gave me metronid and albon too, but i forget what is for what. anyone have any experience with these meds and also if anyone has had any success for taking care of these parasites naturally? i will start him on the metronid and albon tomorrow because i want to start them in the day so i can observe the effect
so my question is is there anything else i can be doing? anyone have experience with these meds?
KMS: yes it looks like tape (now after medicine) and my vet said it was tapeworm. he said that when u can actually see the tapeworm in the stools regularly it breaks off into little pieces. it’s never looked like this tho. i hope that means he’s pooping it all out for good.

does anyone know what CAN kill the tapeworm? also, how do i pour bleach over the poopy area after i clean it? i just cleaned it with water just now and a scrub brush. is there a liquid bleach i can buy? i was concerned about that and forgot to ask about it because i know when he is looking for his poop spot (he usually poops in one spot in the yard), he sniffs around the area.
also, will the bleach harm my dog when he goes around sniffing the area?

Roundworms in kitten?

I recently adopted a 3 month old kitten from my county’s animal shelter. He was tested positive for parasites and they told me they dewormed him. The first day he came home he was eating somewhat normally; however, yesterday and today he hasn’t been eating much at all. Today, after having denied a kitten food I bought him, he begins to vomit and in the yellowish vomit (had the consistency of urine) was a roundworm. I want to take him to the vet tomorrow but I feel it would be too early for another deworming. Is his vomiting the roundworm a reaction of the deworming on Sunday or is it not normal for him to be doing that?

I have a picture of the worm. After online research I found it to be roundworm. Tape worm is not the case here.

Pets have fleas… I feel so gross…Please help!?

My mom took in a pregnant stray cat a few months ago, and we still have 4 of the babies. However, my mom never de wormed the babies or put any flea meds on and i noticed that the cats have fleas on them now. We went out and bought frontline and im going to vacumn the entire house. I also noticed 2 fleas on my bed sheets, which really freaked me out (the cats would always climb up on my bed and sleep).

Anyways, i am really concerned that i could have somehow swallowed a flea in my sleep, and if that flea was infected with tapeworm, now i could have it! i totally freak out about parasites, and now i cant stop worrying about it. Do you think i could have tapeworm now? What should i do about these fleas, i feel so gross (im itchy just thinking about it). Please help me!!

A question about fish?

I hear you can get parasites like tapeworms from raw fish. So does that mean I could get one if I buy pre-breaded frozen fish from the grocery store and the fish has cold spots after I take it out of the oven?
( Sometimes when I eat it there are cold spots in it.)

I need help with tapeworms in my dog?

Our puppy already had tapeworms not too long ago. We took her to the vet, they did the tests, gave her meds and she was fine. I just walked her today and noticed a moving 1 inch tapeworm in her stool. How could this be? How is something that big in her if we dewormed her a month ago. Could she have gotten one that big from drinking street water? (we try to get her out of that habit but it’s harder when we’re also walking our other dog)

On another note when I was walking her back she spit up yellow foam. ??? Our vet charges around for the dewormer and for the worm test (which we can’t get out of). I was wondering if I should go to the vet hoping the meds will WORK or should I go to the local pet store and buy an over the counter dewormer today since the vet is closed today? She was on Cestix.

Btw, is it easy to get parasites, especially tapeworms from dogs? What a Merry Christmas Morning!
