before i get attacked,i live in a third world country where people don’t have rights let alone animals
nobody here care about cats or pets
i love cats(only person in the family) and i had one (from a really expensive breed it was a kittien and gift ) i took very good care of her she was spayed and i took her to the vet for shots ( cattle vet there is not cats vets in my city)
i had to give that cat away and it took me 1 WHOLE YEAR TO FIND A GOOD HOUSE

ok forget about all that,after i gave my cat away i used to buy cat food and give it to starys
1.5 years ago and stary left her baby and i started feeding it and i got so attached to her
i took her to the vet few times in her life(UTI,FEVER,bleeding from the butt…etc)
last month she was also bleeding from the behind and acting weird i took her to the vet and the vet said she have tape worms(and not pregnant) gave her medication and a vitamin pill
and few days later my cat was in heat,she was purring,doing the burrrrrrrrrrr voice and moving her legs and everything
then it stopped and life was normal
since yesterday she is staying in the store room ( again not pregnant and about to have babies AT ALL)
and today she was by herself doing that weid vocie the cats do when they see other cats (bnnnnnmmmmmmmmvgerg34rtggergdever) and not wanting attention and her meow suddenly get loud and scream and then act normal and lick her butt

this exactly what happened one year ago she was hidding in an old playhouse and she was like this for 3 days and then back to normal
i don’t know what can i do ??? i’m having a very bad day and to see my kitty-my love acting this way make it even worse

when i enter the store room she is quiet and when i call her name she makes the EXACT SAME VOICE THAT CATS DO WHEN THEY ARE FIGHTING
what dies that mean?

my kitty is 5 months old and i saw last night she has a tape worm…i just got medicine from the vet in her like 20 minutes ago…she has had diarreha and i keep having to give her a bath…is she going to be ok and how long before she stops having dirarreha and the worm is gone?? how will i know when it is gone

Just a warning, I’m going to go into detail about kitty poo. Beware.

I adopted a cat from the animal shelter two weeks ago (actually, he was there for 2 days then got put in foster care for a month; I adopted him straight from his foster home). He is a year old. Ever since I got him he has had very bad diarrhea. After 3 days of living with me I cut out wet kitten food, and that helped with how smelly it was. A week in, I gradually switched over to a more nutritious, balanced dry food (without fillers). That got it slightly more solid, but still pretty bad (and he actually urinates now, instead of all of his liquids coming out in the diarrhea). I even bought some wheat grass for him to chow on to help his upset, rumbling tummy; he doesn’t eat much of it, so something tells me that’s not the issue.

I took my cat to the vet a few days ago and the vet wants to run expensive tests to determine whether the diarrhea is caused by any major diseases. The vet said that there was no swelling in the abdomen, and he’s in perfect health other than the diarrhea. I paid for a tapeworm pill and gave it to him, but the cost of the tests is extremely prohibitive for me. And, I’m worried that constantly switching diets to check for allergies will just keep my kitty sick, as well.

Any thoughts on how I can calm my cat’s intestinal issues? Any brands of cat food or vitamins you would recommend?

Thanks everyone for their answers! I’ll try out the Rosemary idea– I was thinking of planting some in my garden, anyway. I’ll go out and try the Nitro kitten food recommended, too. I’ve decided to sell a bunch of my stuff on craigslist to pay for another vet visit and the testing fees– this is much more important to fix than keeping a bunch of books and junk I don’t use. Thanks again, everyone!

My vet is 1 hour away, and it’s Sunday, and I really don’t have the .00 for the medicine. I just did all this back in December. What did people do back in the 1800s for this problem? Can anyone advise of a natural way to get rid of these worms. I keep the kitty bathed, he’s indoor only and the only animal in the house and I keep all linens washed and house vacume. We are not diry people-why can’t he get rid of these fleas and what can I do naturally to get rid of the worms. Please advise. Thank you.

The two weeks I had my kitty, he loved every canned food I gave him. But suddenly today, he stopped eating them. He would sniff them and look like he just sniffed fart or something. Then
he just eats a few bites of dry food.

Could this have something to do with the tapeworm medication I gave him two days ago? He did eat the canned foods last two days ago without a problem. Another kitten is eating them fine even though he was given the same tapeworm medication.

Btw, I bought like 20 different types/flavores of cat food so they don’t get bored eating them.
