ok well i got a kitten from a friend and well now i think
the kitty has worms. i did some resurch to find that they
are tapeworms i think. i called the vet and schedualed
an appointment but the cost is going to be over 100$ or more.
i do not have that money right now, and was wondering if just a
store bought dewormer will work or what kind of deworming
stuff do you recomend. thanks for ur help.

I adopted a 10 week-old kitten from an animal shelter a couple of weeks ago. On the adoption papers it says she was dewormed a month before we bought her. Last night I found a worm coming out of her butt. It was tiny..looked like segmented rice. I bought Pro-Pet roundworm de-wormer. I’m not sure if she has roundworm or tape. But I want to know, as she’s an indoor kitten, how she could develop worms again when the shelter already de-wormed her? Also, is this transferrable to humans?

I took my kitten to the Vet yesterday because she has tapeworms and fleas. Well, the fleas are gone thanks to Revolution. She has a tapeworm pill that she cant take till the 17th. At the Vet I noticed she was quite thin. She even had a limp I didn’t notice before (one of my kids probably stepped on her). Anyways, since the Vet visit, she wont eat or anything. She just wants to lay there and cuddle. Her brother has the same worms but is chubby and seems to be fine. Could it be her injured hind leg that is making her not want to eat? I have a Vet appointment for their shots tomorrow but I am worried and curious now!
Actually neither of my kitten go outside. When I picked up these kittens they already had fleas from the previous owner. I didn’t know. Kittens get tapeworms from eating infected fleas and is quite common as I have been reading about it. I’m just thankful that I have them in my hands because they wouldn’t have been taken to the Vet otherwise!
Actually I did ask BOTH my kids if they stepped on her and one said no and one said I could have but wasn’t quite sure so I cant say for sure. These are the only pets I own and I have talked with my two young children about taking care of these two kittens and to watch out for them when they walk. The kittens do tend to walk under our feet at times but I cant follow my kids around 24/7. Two days ago the kitten wasn’t limping at all so that’s why I didn’t notice until yesterday. She was always thin but yesterday seemed even thinner than usual. Maybe because I’ve been taking care of my daughter and worried that she might have some sorta cancer that I’m not up the kittens a** every minute of every day. Thanks for trying to make me feel like crap. Didn’t work though.
The Vet took a stool sample yesterday and also tested negative for Lukemia. No Diareha, no puking, no other sign of anything. Revolution could be the problem because she was eating fine until the Vet visit.

hi there! my almost 7 month old kitten has tapeworm. Last night we went to the pet store and the woman there told us to crush up the tapeworm pill and put it in her wet food. So we did that last night at about 10pm, but she only ate about half of her food! it looks like she ate about half the pill, and some tiny tinnyyy pieces of it. Its now 1:00pm the next day, and she still hasnt had a bowl movement with any coming out! Aren’t they supposed to all come out at once or something? Do we need to give her more?! thanks so much for any advice!!

so i just got 2 kittens the other day they were free and the place i got them from wasnt extremely dirty or anything but the kittens did seem a little skinny with puffy bellys at the same time.. one of the kittens will not go in the litterbox which is weird because cats dont usually seem to have this problem.. any ways we found out she has tapeworms!!! so we went lookin for a vet who gave us a peice of a pill called "drontal"? i guess thats what it says… shes only like a pound if that.. shes smaller than the one and hes a pound… wow im rambling ne ways… they started coming out of her rear and my friend(thank god shes here) was like pulling em out.. is that bad?… or should we let them go like she was like eating them.. is that bad?.. im new to this entire worm thing… we do kno for a fact there tapeworms.. sorry for the rambling im just not sure how much information is needed… we only gave medicine to the one kitten.. should we seperate them?? what about my other pets we have 2 dogs and a bigger cat and i have a mouse which im sure isnt a big concern… thanks soo much for reading and i appreciate all answers =)
yea lol btw she did wash her hands REALLY well she has like major ocd and shes a healthfreak and all that crap so yea… and the other cat has them too.. idt i said that.. do i still have to seperate em?
