My sister and dog were recently attacked by a neighbors dog. While my sister was not harmed, my puppy got bit and had to make an emergency vet visit. He received treatment, painkillers and other medicine.

While the owner of the other dog agreed to pay the vet bill, they were not happy when we asked them to buy a harness and or muzzle for their dog.

I know that a lawsuit should only be brought into action if they don’t pay the vet bills.

I was just wondering what to get my puppy tested from….

Should we test him for heart worm?

Any helpful suggestions are welcomed!

Hi everyone? Just adopted a dog this weekend and he is up to date with everything I just need to continue his heart worm meds.
I have not had a dog since I was younger but I don’t remember it ever being on any preventive medicine. Regardless, I have also read that you can give them this medicine only during the months where mosquitoes are an issue. Is this ok or does the medicine not work when it isn’t given monthly. BTW, I live in Georgia(Atlanta area) as I have heard that heart worms are a problem based on where you live?

does anyone know what you can give a dog that has heartworms. Whitey this poor dog that somebody dropped off here and my husband found him in our shed nothing but skin & bones we started feeding him and he has put on a little weight after we got him to where he trusted us we was able to take him to our vet and found out he has heartworms but he is still to ran down to put him on heart worm treatment. What gets me is these so called people probably knew he had heartworms and just didnt want to get him well so they droped him off. He is a good dog and I want to do what we can for him. T talked to out vet today or one of the girls that works there and she is gonna ask the vet if he cant be put on a perventive to kill the little heartworms but if anyone has anything or knows of any kind of medicine that I could give the poor boy I would appreciate it. We have had him for 3 weeks and have grown fond of Whitey. Mt 3 little ones cant get it cause they are on heartworm perventive

My dog gets fleas and ticks int eh summer but not in the winter. We need to find a reasonable price for a good working product. What is the best shampoo? What is the best flea dip/spray/drops? What is the best heart worm medicine?

I have taken him to the vet and it seemed to be normal before, but has gotten worse. I don’t really want to take him back because it is an extra expense I really can’t afford right now. I don’t know if I should get a certain brand food for him, or get medicine, or what, that’s why I am asking this. He is an inside dog by the way. He is on heart-worm and flea medication, so I doubt that is the problem. I just want his coat to be more health and look better.
