On thursday my vet will be giving me the pill Drontal. I noticed that one of my cats had tape worms by the "rice" looking object on her butt fur. I have 3 cats total and have seen nothing on the other cats. I called my vet who has seen all my cats and although I KNOW what tape worms are, he suggested bringing her in for an exam anyways. Therefore thats why its gonna be Thursday. He had already mentioned that he would send her home with Drontal and also a pill for my other 2 cats. Question is, how long will this take to work? I hear about Diareah and loose stool and it concerns me because Saturday morning I am moving and my cats will be in the car all day. They will of course have their litter box but this is an 18 hour trip across 2 states. Should I wait until Sunday to administor the pills? I want them to be comfortable but also want this gotten rid of asap! They are on advantage so im still pondering how she got worms when they are all strictly indoor cats. any help is great!

i noticed my dog has lost his appetite, and keeps sliding his butt on the ground. I think he has worms. Would Hartz rid worm be a good medicine to give him?

ok so my cat was sick so i took her to the vet last week (she is NOT pregnant)
the vet gave her antibiotics for 4days
and then 1/2 pill deworming medicine and the other1/2 next month
my cat was bleeding a little bit from the butt
the vet told me it’s from tape worms
she got better but after the dewroming medicine she started bleeding again (not alot only dry butt arounf the area) and just now i checked and the size of dried blood is the size on a small coin
it was always less than that
the cat is eating and playing fine also acting fine
she don’t even lick her butt like she used to
she is 2
vet clinic closed today
i took her to the other vet in town
he said this blood is "her period" and he did not give her any medication
so i changed to the other vet i’m take my cat to now !!
the other vet told me this is tape worms
and when she took her temp some blood and worms came out (gross poor kitty)
so i don’t know
i like this vet i don’t want to change to a new vet again

i took a sample of my cats stool in to vet to be checked to see what kind of worms he had because we saw one coming out his butt. the test came back negative but the lady told us it will give a negative reading most of the time, and gave us pills for my cat for tape worms, just wondering how long it takes where i wont see any worms????

Okay. It all started about a week ago. Sadie puked like kind-of white or gray liquid. My other dog puked, too, only it was chunks of her soft food.. Sadie is my 7 year-old dachshund. Gidget is a cockapoo that’s 1 year-old. Well, we didn’t think much of it. I started giving them Dog Vitamins. They didn’t act sick or anything after it. And that’s all they did. No diharrea, or anything like that. Well, yesterday, Sadie acted lazy. She was rubbing her butt on the carpet A LOT. More than usual. I picked her up a few times, and she started crying. She stopped when I put her in my lap. I fed her some beef flavor soft food, and gave her a vitamin, along with Gidget, who didn’t have any problems and was still acting normal. Well, I checked Sadie’s nose, and it was cold and wet. My mom checked her bones, like her spine, skull, ribs and legs, but she didn’t show signs of discomfort. She did take a big fall a day or two before the new symptoms started. I also rubbed on her tummy, but all she did was breathe a little heavy, like normal. She’s still eating, and I fed her Lamb & Rice soft food and gave her a vitamin today, as well as Gidget. Her stomach is very tight and hard. She is still drinking water, too. I tried "expressing the anal glands", but nothing happened! I also bought her medicine for worms and gave it to her yesterday, but it hasn’t showed any signs of improvement either. She was acting semi-normal today. She hasn’t puked, and I checked her poop today. Her poop wasn’t diarrhea, and it was a sort-of yellow color. I didn’t see any signs of blood. So what can it be? I’m scared it might be bloat…
