It's a tablet. Yes, you can purchase the tablets yourself, but I would suggest taking the kitten to the vet to insure it's tapeworms and not another parasite, before administering the medication. The de-worming shots they give DO NOT cover a tapeworm. I learned this the hard way, and my vet had to explain it to me last week. It is a pill, and it is given 1 time, and then re-treated with another pill 2 weeks later. My kitten gets his last pill next week. Take you kitten to the vet asap! Tapeworms are not good! You will need to take the cat to the vet ASAP as tapeworms are no joking thing. Did you know people can get tapeworms. When the little white worm segment falls of the cat's butt it dries into a hard capsule that will set dormant until it is ingested by another animal. You can easily ingest the capsule yourself if you are not careful. IE: If the dried out capsule lands on your pants and you don't see it and put your hands on your pants and them put your hands in your mouth.....etc, etc...
