Is there a safe and effective over the counter cure for cat tapeworms in cats?
Or can you buy the shots online and give them subcutaneously in the neck skin yourself?
The vet gave them a shot on the back of the neck before for it.
Vet is expensive..like a cat for exam, then maybe another or so for a test, then another maybe for meds…I see Betty White advertising an online pet med company?
Go to Revival Animal or Omaha Vaccines or Valley Vet online they all sell it. It is called Tradewind tape worm pills same as vet uses only cheaper and no appointment needed.
Um…tapeworm medication is NOT a shot. It’s a tablet. Yes, you can purchase the tablets yourself, but I would suggest taking the kitten to the vet to insure it’s tapeworms and not another parasite, before administering the medication. It’s really strong for kittens.
Funny this came up on here now… just found out my kitten has a tapeworm… had to have got it from his mommy anyway.. there is not a shot. The de-worming shots they give DO NOT cover a tapeworm. I learned this the hard way, and my vet had to explain it to me last week. It is a pill, and it is given 1 time, and then re-treated with another pill 2 weeks later. My kitten gets his last pill next week. Take you kitten to the vet asap! Tapeworms are not good!

No, you can only get meds for tapeworms from a vet. this is because they have to weigh the kitty and make sure they don’t OD the kitty. You will need to take the cat to the vet ASAP as tapeworms are no joking thing. Did you know people can get tapeworms. When the little white worm segment falls of the cat’s butt it dries into a hard capsule that will set dormant until it is ingested by another animal. You can easily ingest the capsule yourself if you are not careful. IE: If the dried out capsule lands on your pants and you don’t see it and put your hands on your pants and them put your hands in your mouth…..etc, etc…
