Is my pug to young for flea meds or to be wormed?
I bought a pug pup about a week ago (for 500 freakin’ dollars!) and the previous owners just now got around to telling me she has fleas and worms (tapeworms I believe, they are little white noodles that shrivel up about 30min after they crawl out of her behind.)
Can a 8 week old pup be wormed and is there a flea medicine for puppies around that age that is safe or is she to young for flea meds?
It was so cheap cause the previous owners obviously knew it was infested with worms and fleas and didn’t even bother to tell me before I bought the bug eyed thing.

$500 is peanuts to pay for a Pug if it’s pure bred. It’s only half the going price for a well bred Pug. You sure didn’t buy this puppy from a reputable breeder.
If you’ve had the dog for about a week, didn’t you notice it was flea and worm infested?
Yes, an 8 week old pup should be wormed and flea treated. It probably has round worms as well as tape worm.
Take the pup to your vet.
No. Call you vet in the morning and they can do all that for you.
Puppies can be treated with flea stuff (normally Frontline) from the vets from the age of two weeks. They can also be treated with worm stuff (Drontal, normally) from the vets at a similar age, though dose can be dependent on weight.
Take the dog to the vet- you should be anyway, for a general health check/first shots and to set up a health plan and shot schedule- and they’ll be able to sort it out.
to young for flea meds but the vet will have something suitable for her. worming anytime you an worm a pup normally she gets the protection from the mother provided she has been wormed however with tape worm i suggest you get a worm treatment from the vet directly and often the sell them in single pills
