How long after my dog is treated for tapeworms before eggs stop showing up on his bedding, the floor, etc.?

He’s on Frontline every month, worms showed up three weeks after groomer visit. Gave him pill from vet Thursday, washed, vacuumed, mopped, Thurs. and Fri., then washed again Sunday and saw eggs on a throw on Monday. Mopped Monday morning, mopped a bit that night and saw more eggs.

My puppy came home with 3 kinds of worms, it took 2 medicines and about 3 weeks or so to get rid of them. It was the nastiest thing I had ever seen and never want to go through it again. I would call the Vet and ask if they may need another pill or medicine.

At least a week. If longer I would think your vet should do a fecal and treat again. It could be he needs to be treated for other worms beside the tapes. Evita
He had to have swallowed a flea to get the tape in the first place. Are you sure that your Frontline is working? Check the dog for fleas.
They should be gone from the stool in about a week, unless you or the groomer have a flea problem.
By the way, you don’t need to get the pill from the vet. Vets use Droncit. If you check the Droncit website, you will find that the chemical in it is Pranziquantel. Pranziquantel is now otc and you can find it at most pet stores for a whole lot less money.
I’ve used it on rescues and it definitely works.
Tapeworms, ooooh nasty, My pit got loaded with tapeworms, My Vet gave me some pills two of them called drontal Plus it took care of that, what drontal does is it basically dries the worms and eggs out then is digested and comes out, pretty much you wont see eggs or any thing, eggs comming out means that there is still activity in your dog, but give it a week and if you still see eggs, then you should try is gettting drontal all it takes it two pills but they 40 dollars for the two pills , it works i use it on all my dogs atleast every six months
Several treatments are needed and treatment for round worms is a good idea also.
