my crazy english teacher told us that in the old days b4 antibiotics this was how they cured tape worm in children:
they stuck abit if pasta or food on a saftey pin and tied it to string, then shoved it down the childs throat, and worm then ate the food and got caught on the pin, then you would reel the string back up and the worm would be attached. well i dont think you should try this on a cat, but i just thought it might be interesting..and i know how expencive vet bills can be, mb you could do a search and get a ton of info

I think you can get the medicine fairly cheap at some feed and grain stores. Also alot of times tape worms are caused by fleas. So make sure you keep your cat flea free.

P.S. Chewing tobacco is deadly to animals.

Try chewing tobacco, it works to de-worm dogs, just make sure it's not more than a little bit on the end of your finger.

There is no home remedy. Your cat needs antibiotics or it will eventually die.

The vet visit shouldn't be any more then about $100 plus the cost of medication, and a lot of vets will work out a payment plan.

This is part of the responsibility of owning a cat
