Tapeworms are long, segmented worms that live in the small intestine. They come in several varieties and are transmitted through infected soil, from ingesting fleas while self-grooming, or even from eating rodents. Here's more info:

I don't think so. I learned in science it's not contagious, but very harmful. Tapeworms absorbs nutrients so it's very dangerous. Go reserach on them and find out more.
Hopes this helps! :) :)

No, Dogs get tape worms from eating a flea. So if you have other dogs most likely they will have fleas too and can get it that way. while they dont get it from other dogs the can get it from eatting their fecal matter.. I did not initially add this. since technically eatting fecal matter is not getting the worms directly from the other dog.

you need to go to the vet and get meds. Over the counter dormers will not work.

Actually, yes, if the other dog eats the fleas or the poop with eggs from the dog with worms. Have all the dogs fecal checked and treat them, don't use OTC meds as some can be dangerous.

Yes, Tape worm can also be contagious to humans. Make sure you keep your hands washed. Tape worm can not be detected in a stool sample. Tell your vet of your concerns and have him treat all your animals. Tape can be seen best when the dog is sleeping by checking his or her rectum. You will notice small pieces of moving rice. ( segments of tape worm)
