we just got a new puppy 3 days ago, she was born april 8th. I noticed today that there was something white in her poop. After I looked at it closer, I’m pretty sure it’s tape worms. She has been pooping them out all day. We have made arrangements to take her to the vet next friday, but I’m worried about her now. I can’t get in to our vet till next friday, so what can I do for her now? And how bad is it? I’ve never had a dog with tape worms. We called the people we got her from, & left a message. If I deworm her & they already have can that hurt her??
after I posted this I did a picture search & I think that it is hookworms instead of tapeworms’
about her age, we were also concerned but they told us that at 6 weeks it was ok. I don’t really know. She has all of her teeth & can eat hard food. Also we did not pay for her, she is a Chug. so pretty much a accidental breed of a Pug & a Chi-wawa.

I took my dog to the vet the other day because she was running around the house like she was crazy, trying to chew her butt, dragging her butt on the ground and whining a lot. I gave her worm medicine and her anal glands are empty. The vet said she couldn’t find anything wrong with her but gave me some antibiotics in case she had a urinary tract infection. Is there anything I can put on her to help her with the itching that’s driving her crazy.

I bought a 12 week old golden, who is now 13 weeks. She has awful problem of trying to eat dirt, rocks, sticks, anything/everything she can find outside. Its not healthy! She is an indoor dog, but we still have to take her out. I learned she had tapeworm, which she had to get by ingesting a flea probably in the dirt she was eating while at the breeders farm. My fear is that she isn’t going to change. Maybe we should’ve chose a younger pup. WE paid alot of money for her (out of desperation of missing our 13 yr old golden who died not too long ago) and I’m now wondering if we should’ve got a puppy that was younger, who hadn’t developed this habit yet. Anyone win over a dirt eating dog?
Thanks it may be dog food then! Breeder told me to continue on Purina Puppy Chow – not to change or she would get diarreah. I love the little pup, but she really desires the dirt. We play alot so it’s not boredom. She’ll go to eat dirt before even elminating when she has to go…she likes to have a clump full of grass/dirt/mulch and will try to swallow before I dig it out.

ok so I have this cat, but we brought it to my house and most of my family has allergies to it, so their allergic! But the only way i could keep it since im not allergic is to bring it to my horse barn where I keep my horse. The horse barn is indoors and is heated, and Lulu (the cat) loves it their, and she likes to stock mice she likes it better than at my house. But the only problem is sometimes i worry about her getting rabies or ringworm or tape worms. But my mom doesnt want to bring her to the vet to get vaccinated, my mom is refusing to, she said we can just buy stuff like dewormers at wal-mart or something. But I was wondering if anyone knows of any liquid stuff that would help prevent/cure any diseases, such as worms, rabies etc.,. Because my mom will not bring this cat to the vet unless she gets seriosly hurt…Please HELP ME!!! Thanks…
p.s. if i get meds for her, how often do i give it 2 her???
