Can I deworm cats who may not have worms?

I had 2 inside cats who never went outside. I brought in an outside cat and made him an inside cat, but I noticed he had tapeworms. The vet gave me Cestex to treat tapeworm in May. I am starting to see the dead tapeworms again on the floor.

Would it be okay to deworm all of them?? I’m not sure if it’s the same cat who had them before, but I am trying to cut the vet out of the picture for now and buy the medication through petmeds.

Any help? Thanks!

My dog just pooped mushy poop with noodle like worms in his poop. Since our vet is closing at 6 and it is past 6, we will have to be around him until tomorrow. Is it ok? I mean, are we risking a chance of getting worms, or sick somehow? Is it ok to pet the dog? Is there anything we can do since we dont have medicine? Help!

The VET gave me 5 pills to start and then 5 pills for him to take 21 days later. I was a week late giving him the 2nd 5 (gave them to him today) and still see the gross tape worms in his stool.

My cat has tape worms. How can I get rid of them?

I had him treated by the vet last summer with a pill they gave him and following up with the Frontline flea treatment for months afterward. It didn’t appear to work as I still saw another one shortly after treatment. Tonight a lot (several)of the worms are coming out wheras the 3 times I’ve seen it before it was only 1 or 2. I intend to have him treated by the vet again. But I live in a house where there are several other cats belonging to three other people, all but one are outdoor cats and of course are going to bring in fleas. If I keep my cat indoors all the time and treated for fleas after the vet treats the worms, won’t the other cats bringing in fleas make the treatment worthless as they are still fleas in the house to be ingested? It’s my stepdad’s house, one other owner is a renter in the room next to mine, and I’ll be renting a room with my son who is due in December so I can’t make everyone else treat and contain their cats and treat the house and yard. It’d be impossible.

A question about fish?

I hear you can get parasites like tapeworms from raw fish. So does that mean I could get one if I buy pre-breaded frozen fish from the grocery store and the fish has cold spots after I take it out of the oven?
( Sometimes when I eat it there are cold spots in it.)
