She refused food with medicine in it, and after two months of initial symptoms, I dont see any more…could it have gone away on its own when she stopped eating?(she stopped easting for like three days when we tried to give hert he treatments)

I have a dog who has worms so I was wondering what kind of medicine is good to give to her to get rid of the worms. I would like to be able to get something that I won’t have to go to the vet to get, as they are usually more expensive.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not avoiding the vet just because. I do take my dog in, I’m just a college student that would like to avoid unnecessary expenses. I understand that vet care is important, but just like human doctors, expenses can add up.

I don’t have the time to take her to the vet, is there something I can buy over the counter. I’ve heard the problem is quite difficult to clear up, so I would want something that would work.

May sound strange but my then puppy was tested for heartworms last year, was fine and was thereafter given heartworm medicine every month…now I got a note that he is due for his annual heartworm test…does the stuff not work if I continoulsy give it to him monthly…….he should not have them is this just a money -maker for the Vet or does heartgard not work…a vet visit is three days salary for me I need to know?
