I believe my friend's cats are infected with them, and I'm not quite sure what they are.

They are small; not even a half-inch long and they resemble maggots. We're pretty sure that the cats have them, as they appear in their water dish and occasionally appear on the floor or wherever the cat is sitting.

They aren't roundworm/hookworm/tapeworm, as far as I know, since I did a little searching around and they don't look a thing like those types of worms.

Oh, and I would like to know if it is possible for me to transfer these worms to my cats, even though I just stayed the night at my friend's house. I'll wash my clothes and take a shower before handling my cats just in case, but is there a risk anyway?
I'm not entirely sure if they're intestinal, but they don't seem to be coming from anywhere in the cats' fur or skin.
I considered the possibility of tapeworm segments, as they do look like that.

But…

The worms crawl around.. .do tapeworm segments do that?

The worms are taken care of, already took her to the vet. Just wondering if it was possible that she gave it to any humans or any other pets.

Did you know that there is no safe treatment for heartworm disease in cats?

Did you know giving a monthly preventative is the only way to protect your cat against this life threatening disease?

Did you know that indoor cats are just as at risk if not more than outdoor cats?

-As prevelant as Felv/Fiv
-signs include coughing,vomiting,gagging,weight loss
-Cats can be treated with prednisone but still face the risk of sudden death when a heartworm dies.
-Monthly preventative heartgard, interceptor, revolution and adavantage monthly are effective against heartworm disease.

This is not just another way for a vet to make money. It is a deadly disease that can be prevented.

Just noticed today that hes gotten it, but not sure if my cats can get it from him.
